Lesley Williams

Lesley gained an MA in fine art from Leeds Metropolitan University. After teaching Art and Design for many years she is now concentrating on her own work. Based just north of York, the surrounding rural landscape and gardens often form the subject of her semi abstract oil paintings.

From relatively figurative starting points, multiple layers are created, allowing time for the subtle sensations and memories of the time and place to be included. The viewer is encouraged to look beyond the surface. Circular motifs are often contained within the composition as a reference to the continuing nature of time and the seasons.
