Collection: Hilary Holmes Glass Artist

I came into stained glass while living in the Forest of Dean, a good 15 years ago at night classes, and after learning the basics of copper foiling and leaded lights, I wanted expand my knowledge to painting on the glass too. Again I did part time course at Hereford School of Arts where I was taught by the talented Glass Artist and Print Maker, Franz Wesselman.

My style has contemporary medieval feel, and is inspired by the natural environment, the weather, and flora and fauna. with celestial bodies being a big theme as well as Green Men.

My copper foiled fish are now a staple of my work, and are forever changing works that use up most of the off cuts left over from larger projects. Each a one off original created
to fit the shape of the piece of “scrap” glass.
