Dave Atkin - Woodwyrm

York based wood carver Dave regularly features at art events with his carving tools and demonstrates his techniques. His wood is sourced locally and we feature some of his carved wooden dragons and shrink pots here at The Gallery.

Dave was a professional modelmaker by trade with over 20 years experience building a variety of architectural models.

His first carvings were inspired by the Green man myth and were hand carved in cedar and have continued to carve a variety of pieces around this theme and my interest in the Green man continues to influence me.
